Pickle Jar Snow Globe

All the snow and cold weather inspires me to make frosty snow globes.  Not the kind filled with water, but rather the waterless ones  meant to invoke wintery feelings.

My latest project uses a small pickle jar I salvaged just for this purpose.  It was the perfect size and shape.  But darn if I didn't have a struggle with removing  the label and all the sticky glue.  I had to slather it with Goop and let it sit for twenty minutes before I could   wash it with hot soapy water.  But being the right shape, it was worth the trouble.

I'm sure you've heard me mention that I live in Chicago.  As such folks wouldn't expect that I see eagles, hawks, deer, coyotes etc. in our big city, but I do.  The reason being that I live near a nature preserve that is hundreds of acres big.  So just the other day, my husband and I were driving down the street when we spotted a herd of deer no more than a hundred yards away.  And that is where I got my inspiration for my latest globe.
